• Yunnan is the  most ethnic-diversified province of China, and possibly the most ethnic-diversified region in the world. More than half of China's 50 minority groups lives in Yunnan Province.

• The average Sea-level altitude of Yunnan Province is about 1800 meters ( about 5,000 ft). The Himalaya Plateau extended east cross Yunnan Province and build a natural blockage.  Make it the most difficult to reach place in China. During the past 5000 years, there are several attempts by the local powers try to pull Yunnan away from the Great China without success.
• Now situation has changed, traveling into or out of Yunnan is even more convenient than that of any state capital of United State (See our Yunnan Today page):
  • There are four Interstate highway connecting Yunnan with bordering provinces and Vietnam
  • Three  are  three high-speed trains connects Yunnan to China's sophisticated Railway system.
  • More than 100 flights everyday from Kunming, the metropolitan area of Yunnan, to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Bangkok and other China Cities.
